These were common questions we would encounter during our hikes in the parks here in Nashville. At times, we would offer to lead the confused hiker(s) to their desired destination and other times we would provide verbal directions. These occurrences coupled with us being approached by those interested in hiking, but apprehensive due to not knowing the trails sparked the inspiration for Nashville is Nature.
We love to hike as it provides an unexplainable peace while simultaneously promoting a healthy lifestyle. So if you're visiting or living in Nashville and are looking for something fun to do, book a hiking tour with us and you will definitely see that Nashville IS Nature!

Our hikes are for 18 years of age and older - (exceptions for corporate groups, family reunions, summer camps, etc- please contact us and we can customize your hike!). For a more enjoyable experience, we offer private hiking tours with a 2 person per hike minimum (no exceptions), maximum of 8, unless your group is a family reunion, corporate group, or bachelorette party, etc. Want to book for a party greater than 8? Can I Join if I Have Never Hiked Before?ABSOLUTELY!!! Our hikes are for beginners to experts. We will take rests during the hike so everyone can stay together and of course, to catch our breath.

Are Minors Allowed on the Hikes?At this time, our only hike that allows minors (12-17 years old) is our Waterfall Hike. The remaining hikes are available to participants 18 years of age and older. This restriction also includes infants/toddlers in carriers/slings. ***Exceptions for corporations, summer camps, family reunions, etc. Minimum age is 12. Contact us for more details.***

We want to hike at a different time than what's offered. Can we customize the start time?With the exception of the start times of Machine Falls and Radnor Lake, we can definitely customize your hike start times between 8:30am to 2:30pm. Please contact us prior to hiking with your request.

Are Pets Allowed on the Hikes?No, pets are not allowed on our hikes. Our new pup does NOT approve, lol.

I Have Health Issues. Can I Participate on the Hikes?We advise you to obtain clearance from your physician prior to hiking with us.

Is Transportation to the Hiking Sites Provided?No, transportation is not provided at this time; however, Nashville is Nature provides instructions/directions on how to get to the sites within our confirmation emails along with pictures to lead you better to the meetup sites. For some hiking destinations that we consider confusing, we will meet you at a destination of Nashville is Nature's choice and have you trail us from there.

What Should I Wear / Bring to the Hikes?What to wear- Appropriate hiking apparel, i.e., tennis shoes, hiking shoes/boots, comfortable shorts, pants, shirts. Our tours operate in most weather conditions; please dress appropriately. What to bring- Insect repellent, snacks, water (we will also provide these). Optional: Trekking poles, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, rain poncho.

What's Included With the Hikes?Your guide will have a minor first aid kit along with snacks, water, and fruit (upon availability).

**Your slogan is 'Hike with Nashville is Nature Where 'You Lead, and We Guide!' What Does this Mean?**Great Question! Typically, during hikes, you follow the leader, but for our hikes, you ARE the leader! No worries, we will be right there to guide and instruct you as we sweep the line, making sure everyone stays together. By you being the leader, it helps with your sense of direction and builds your exploration confidence of the trails. ** Exception is for large parties, the guide(s) vary between leading the group and sweeping the back of the group.**

I Prefer to be the Only Person on the Hike with a Guide- is this Permissible?No. We have a minimum participant number of 2 people per hike with our guide(s). On the day of the hiking event, if two people sign up but only one shows up to hike, the event will be cancelled, and a refund will be provided to the person who showed up.
